About KDCDE

The Kurdish Directorate for Community Development and Education is an independent, non-profit organization founded on May 13, 2023.

It was officially established in October 2023 in the United Kingdom.

Our goal is to strengthen and preserve the Kurdish language for educational centers in the UK and abroad.

We work to connect educators, degree holders, and community members who are committed to protecting the mother tongue and promoting Kurdish culture for current and future generations.

What We Do

KDCDE promotes the global dissemination of the Kurdish language and strengthens cultural ties across borders.

We aim to introduce Kurdish heritage to diverse communities, particularly within the UK, by supporting Kurdish education centers and unifying their efforts under one umbrella.

Our work contributes to preserving Kurdish identity, empowering diaspora communities, and ensuring that Kurdish children abroad remain connected to their mother tongue.

Language Preservation

Strengthening and preserving the Kurdish language for educational centers in the UK and abroad.

Cultural Connection

Connecting educators and community members committed to protecting the mother tongue.

Educational Excellence

Promoting Kurdish culture and supporting current and future generations.

Kurdish Curriculum

Learning a language provides access to new cultures and broadens global understanding.

The Kurdish curriculum aims to ensure that all learners:

  • understand and respond to spoken and written language
  • speak with confidence, fluency, and accurate pronunciation
  • write for different purposes using a range of grammatical structures
  • appreciate Kurdish stories, poems, and literature

The curriculum focuses on practical communication, foundational grammar, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and clear written expression.

Learners are taught to listen attentively, engage in conversations, read with understanding, broaden vocabulary, and write creatively using correct grammar.

Leadership & Trustees

KDCDE is managed by a committee of trustees elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The trustees oversee organizational decisions, financial matters, partnerships, and the implementation of KDCDE's goals.

They have the authority to raise funds, support related organizations, and take necessary actions to achieve the directorate's mission.
